Yoshitomo Nara is one of my all time favourite artists and one of the famous people I'd love to meet. Theses are some photos I took of his art on display at GoMA as part of the APT6.

Here's the story of introduced species: a fox and a rabbit. Beautiful animals in their own right but a pest as an non-native animal in Australia. My story is that I too am a member of an introduced species, white settlers who came to Australia. I want to welcome new visitors to Australia, reconcile myself as an introduced species and say SORRY to the owners of this land.

Today I started work on painting a TSB. That's a traffic Signal Box, in normal speak, its the grey box on the corner that houses the electrics for the traffic lights. Luckily for artists here in Brisbane we have an opportunity to put our artworks on TSBs. I started yesterday but it was boiling hot 34 degrees Celsius so I only did the undercoat. Today I started adding the design and putting in some colour but there's probably 2 more days work before completion.

Charcoal and pastel; by Jenny Jump, 1990
I made this drawing, age 17, inspired by a Jane Goodall article in national Geographic about her study of Chimpanzees and their link to homosapiens.
This darling chimp looks into your eyes and searches into your soul for that understanding that animals and people alike deserve compassion;
and that sometimes we get tired and we just like a nice lie down.

I've just enjoyed a lovely holiday in Willunga and McLaren Vale, towns south of Adelaide, SA.
I've been staying with my brother Bert, his partner Ellie and 1 year old Kaiden during the excitement of "the Tour Down Under" cycling race. They were great hosts and we had front row seats for all the racing. Kaiden showed off for us his first steps, walking without holding anything and being super cute and adorable at all times. Lance Armstrong raced passed us but he was just a blur and a burst of wind. Lots of Bert's friends helped on the big day and Oxygen cycles celebrated its birthday. Bert's mate Greg mixed some cool beats for the event, Sarah made yummy food, we drank cycle-powered smoothies and we made a cyclist scarecrow, posing in the street.
